The Brewster Police boat patrols Long Pond, the largest great pond on Cape Cod, covering over 740 acres and split between the Towns of Brewster and Harwich. Long Pond attracts hundreds of boats and visitors during the summer season.

This program is funded by the Towns of Brewster and Harwich, who share this wonderful resource The Marine Unit patrols Long Pond during the months of late May through September aboard a 17 foot Edgewater police marked vessel.
  
The main function for the Brewster Police Boat Patrol is to maintain public safety.  The Officers duties include, but not limited to, answering emergency calls on the pond, enforcing Massachusetts safety regulation laws, enforcing Jet Ski By-laws, inspecting boats for safety equipment, investigating boat collisions, and assisting disabled boats.
